Product Description

This is a palm-grip deshedding comb: a moulded plastic block 146 mm long, with a textured rubber pad across the top face and a strip of fine metal teeth along one long edge. There is no handle to hold — you close your hand over the body and draw the toothed edge through the coat, which keeps your control low and close to the animal instead of at the end of a shaft.

A double, staggered row of teeth on one edge

The working edge carries two rows of fine teeth rather than one, offset so the teeth of the second row sit in the gaps of the first. That staggered pattern is the point of the tool: the leading row lifts and separates the topcoat, and the second catches the loose undercoat behind it. It is one working edge, not two sides — the opposite long edge is a smooth sealed shell with no teeth of any kind, so there is nothing to flip over mid-groom.

Made for loose undercoat

The supplier's own labelled graphic puts all four of its callouts on that single edge: gentle de-shedding, fine dense teeth, easy grip and removal of loose undercoat. The in-use photographs show the comb worked along a golden retriever's flank, and beside it the clump of hair it lifted out. This is a shedding-season tool for double-coated dogs and cats — hair that has already let go, taken out before it lands on the sofa.

At 146 mm the body sits inside a closed hand, as the supplier's own hand shot shows, and the rubber pad moulded into the top gives your palm something to press against.
