A sausage on a grill is just a sausage. Put it between these two little stainless steel stands and it becomes a dachshund.
The set is two flat laser-cut stainless steel plates. One is the head and front legs, the other is the tail and back legs, each with a dog silhouette that folds up from the base plate. Set them on the grate a sausage-length apart, rest the sausage across the two supports, and the gap between them fills in as the dog's body. Turn the sausage as it cooks and the shape holds.
Because the sausage sits raised on the supports rather than flat on the bars, it cooks more evenly and does not weld itself to the grate on one side. Each stand is a small 7 x 6 cm footprint, so several sets fit across a grill at once for a party.
They are solid stainless steel with no coating, no plastic and no moving parts, so they go straight from the grill into the dishwasher. They also work over a campfire grate or in the oven on a tray.
